The People and Businesses highlighted on this page are actively working toward that end. Bolstering the plights and well being of Others and still managing to conduct a little business while they're doing it.

Whether you're building a Sandwich or a Combined-Cycle Power Plant (you're gonna wanna trust me here I've done both), and you put all you can into doing each step to the best of your ability, the end result WILL be awesome.​​

She is indeed named after Rebecca "Newt" Jorden, who is one of my daughter's heros.
When you hear me refer to "Doggie" in the blooper reels of the audiobooks, what I'm speaking to, is pretty much the image below.

Three Ravens Publishing
The good folks over at Three Ravens, despite having granted both of my professional debut opportunities in written fiction and audiobook narration, and therefore are at least partially responsible for exposing the population at large to my lunacy, are still good people. They are active in their support of Veterans' affairs and really put forth a vibe of using the fiction as creative catharsis for the betterment of both writer and audience. As well as publishing Children's and Self Help titles under other in-house banners.

Forte Fitness
Forte, in this instance, is referencing the dynamic musical notation for “Strong” or “Loud” as it pertains boxing and personal strength.
At Forte they do a lot of great work serving individuals specific health needs with atypical methods lead by a variety of skilled coaches and trainers.
The boxing program is rooted in Neurological Therapy for many medical conditions including Parkinson's. Their GigerMD Neuro-Therapy system is one of only a handful of units in the world.
Cannon Publishing
The publishing headquarters for author J.F. Holmes' self published works and the works of other select authors.
Actively supports Veterans' affairs

John was very cool with me as I floundered through some early works. Seriousely, I kept John and Dan (the author of the Athenaum, Inc. series) waiting for like two months while I un-f..ked some stuffs. Both good dudes.
Moving Mountains
Moving Mountains is the housing branch of the Ascension Carreer Training Program.
The program is here to break the "hit the street and repeat" cycle that traps many dissadvantaged folks. Like young adults aging out of Foster Care. People being released by the Department of Corrections, in good standing, who need someplace to start from. Any of our Veterans struggling with civilian life, and those who may need a safe place to startover from escaping domestic abuse or other issues.
Graduates of the Program are stepping out onto their new paths with jobs and jobs skills, housing and transportation arrangements in place for sustained success and a few other, less common safeguards & tools to work with.
Personnally, I am honorred to be able to help with this program; the world we live in can be a very tough place. Most of us have or will, need a little help at some point in our lives. And a little bit of help, at just the right time, can change everything.

Forte Ninja Training
It's a Giant Ninja Confidence Course built for primarily for kids and young adults. Run by some real "Can-Do" coaches.
It's awesome.
Boju
Kelly "Boju" Lorrance (AKA: Cuz or Boj-Buddy), aside from being the Signer/Song Writer for IS30, the 30 year resurection of Inner Sanctum, is also the Owner / Operator of K-Line Painting.
Kel is a wold class friend and character and is one of the only 3 craftsmen with whom I share projects.

Still got his one good eye on patrol; Odin is featured in the Athenaeum Inc. novels.
Molly "I don't like these Jammies PaPa" Dawg
So like Odin above, Molz here is "Yoda-old", and like many of the dogs around here (including Newt), had a completely bull-shit start to life because of some asshole human. I won't bemoan the point beyond saying this:
Because she is a smaller female, she was used as a bait dog to wind up the big fighting dogs before a fight. Even after many, many years of being well cared for in a loving environment and being socialized, she is still goes right into fight or flight mode in the presence of other dogs. She's way to stiff for flight, so for everyone's safety, this pretty girl will forever remain segregated form her rightfully due dog-friends.
I give “Jerm” (below) a lot of credit for picking up the leash when the dog was thrust upon him by circumstance, and for the great success he's made of the latter portion of Molly's life.
Jerm
Jeremy "Jerm" Childs (AKA: Little Buddy, Shark-Bait or J-Channel Guy), is the guy who scooped up Molly, the ratty old Pit-bull everyone was too scared of to care for.
Jerm is a wonderfully clever Old-time Yankee Carpenter and avid surfer still paddling his ass out into the frosty northern Atlantic cruzin' for waves.
For more than 30 years, Jerm has proven to be of unflappable character, loyalty and wit.
